First of all, Before we talk about Decacorn we need to know what Unicorn is

Based on cambrigde dictionary, unicorn is an imaginary crature like horse with a single horn growing from the front of its head. It also mean a start-up or a new bussiness whose value is considered to be over $1 Billion.

But in this video we will not talk about mythical creature.

The term unicorn was  used by  the founder of cowboy ventures, alieen lee, on her article on TechCrunch. she used unicorn referred to the 39 startups that had a valuation of more than $1 billion.

By the years the number of unicorn startup has increased. Moreover some of startups have value more than $10 billion.

So now, there are more clasification to define startups

  • decacorn reffered a start-up (= new business) whose value is considered to be over $10 billion
  • hectocorn used to show a start-up (= new business) that have value more than $100 billion
